Did you see this article a few weeks ago which says that people exercising both aerobically and those using muscle exercises were more likely to live longer than those who did just one or the other, US researchers found.

Using our bands or weights in class or even just using our own body weight can impact on our bodies so positively – the report even found that the results are especially important for women because they seemed to get an even bigger benefit from weight lifting than men in the study.

A common misconception is the fear for some people that strength exercises would make them “too bulky”—a common worry about weight lifting.  Using weights or resistance bands are linked with better muscle mass, healthier muscles and stronger bones which is particularly important in women to stave off conditions such as osteoporosis.  it’s really important to not just live long, but to live well. So that’s it then, our weights and resistance bands are here to stay!
